Indications
For goitre, swollen glands, glandular swellings in the neck and lumps under the skin from lodged heat and phlegm. Also for an overactive thyroid, thyroiditis and lymphadenitis.

Variations
- For large swellings and goitre: add kelp, sargassum and self-heal.
- For more fire and phlegm: add zhi mu and tree peony bark.
- For stagnant liver qi: add chai hu, nutgrass rhizome and green tangerine peel.
