Privacy

What this site records about your visit, and what it does not.

No tracking, no IP addresses

This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies and no third-party services that follow you. Your IP address is not stored.

There is one functional cookie: it remembers the language you choose, so the site opens in that language next time. Logging in to the admin also sets a login cookie.

Visitor statistics

To see which pages are read, the site stores per visit: the page, the site you came from (domain name only), the country, the language and the kind of device (computer, tablet or phone).

To count visitors per day, the site makes a code from your IP address, your browser and the date, scrambled with a secret key. The code changes every day, so a visit on another day cannot be linked to your earlier visit, and the IP address cannot be recovered from it.

The country is determined on our own server with DB-IP's free country database; your IP address is not sent to anyone else for this. Visits are deleted after 25 months and not shared with others.

Photos from other sites

The photos of herbs come from Wikimedia Commons and iNaturalist and are loaded directly from their servers. As with any website, that server sees your IP address. See the privacy policies of the Wikimedia Foundation and of iNaturalist.
