Nourishes the blood, stops bleeding and was used to prevent miscarriage.
Indications
For menstrual bleeding from deficiency and cold in the chong and ren vessels: abdominal pain, constant light bleeding, bleeding after childbirth or during pregnancy and threatened miscarriage, with light-coloured blood without clots, weakness, a painful back and heavy menstruation.

Variations
- For lower back pain: add du zhong and sang ji sheng.
- For qi deficiency: add dang shen and huang qi, or combine with gui pi tang.
- For threatened miscarriage with back pain: omit chuanxiong; add bai zhu, du zhong and sang ji sheng.
