Use in traditions

Pellitory-of-the-wall grows in cracks in walls, which the Latin name Parietaria ('of the wall') recalls. The rough leaf was used to polish glass. In folk medicine it was a soothing diuretic for gravel and bladder complaints. Its pollen is a major cause of hay fever around the Mediterranean.
